What do you think?

on April 1, 2012

Remember this dress that I made for my niece?

(I hope so! I just posted about it last week:) hehe). well, I’m considering putting it up in my etsy shop.

Ok, let me explain… of course it wouldn’t be this exact dress. It would be a custom order or maybe I could make a few samples and sell those if someone wants to buy them instead of a custom order, since that would take time to make and then ship.

I’m just not sure if I should  do this or not since I’m still not getting much traffic or sales. I’m in LOVE with the dress! And I think it would be fun to make more of them, but I’m not rich either so I think they would definitely have to be a custom order where I would wait to get paid before purchasing the fabric and stuff.

I think you should sell them as custom orders!

Cute dress! I know not much about selling on etsy, but supplies are costly for sure 🙂

We got Lauren’s skirt done and I posted pictures on my family blog.

  3. I think I would do custom orders…etsy has become a marketplace over run with lots if people selling products similar to yours….it’s almost a price/quality war over there which is probably why you haven’t had much traffic…there is simply soooo much to choose from, you might be better off in a more local settting like crafts fairs…we made it big with blossom bucket boutique in that forum. Good luck Megan and keep up the good work, I live seeing what your working on!

  4. I also think I would do custom orders, with kids sizes varying so, it would be a lot of work and no money up front. The dress is adorable, put one up and see what happens. Nothing wrong with trying Good luck. thanks for stopping by and sorry you foyer is so small, I guess I should count my blessings, no matter how small.

I LOVE to hear from you!
