St. Patrick’s Day Shirts

Ok, I’m back with more pictures of the boys in their shirts! 🙂 I had a lot of fun making them! I’m excited for the next holiday so I can make some more heat transfer shirts! I believe it is my new favorite crafty thing to do!!

I think I mentioned a while ago that I was contacted by Expressions Vinyl asking me to do a sponsored post for them. The company is actually based in Idaho Falls, which is where I live! When I found that out last year I was SOOOO excited!! If only I had enough money to buy tons of stuff from them all the time!! LOL They used to actually have their warehouse about 5 minutes down the street from my house! It was great! BUT they recently moved to a bigger place in the outskirts of town so I now have to drive for about 10-15 minutes to get there. Heaven forbid!! 🙂

Anyway, the guy I was in contact with told me to pick a project and let him know what products I would need and he’d get them ready for me. All I had to do was come pick it all up. I decided on St. Patty’s Day shirts and a couple other projects that I still have yet to get to. I had never used heat transfer paper before, let alone heat transfer vinyl! I was very intrigued by it so I asked him to gather green flocked heat transfer vinyl for me to use.

After I picked it up I was SO excited to give it a try, but since I don’t have all the time in the world to craft all day long, I kept putting it off. I have 3 days over the last 2 weeks that I penned the project in to work on and none of those days did I even so much as TOUCH the vinyl!

FINALLY, two days before St. Patrick’s Day I was in crunch time mode! I forced myself to learn how to do it and get them done. I used 3 different designs, because my older two are getting to the point where they don’t want to wear the same clothes, they made that VERY clear to me when I told them they had a choice in what went on their shirts. I showed them pictures from my pinterest board and gave them a few ideas of my own.

I designed them in the Silhouette Studio program, making sure I flipped them horizontally. I realized the side of the vinyl that I thought was the top, was actually the bottom! LOL My Silhouette cute out the shapes flawlessly and I got to work placing them on the shirts and ironing them on. It was Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!!

I LOVE how they turned out and so did the boys, except for Tinian, who really could care less! I made his a size too big in hopes that he can wear it again next year. I think his is my favorite! 🙂

Why do I love Tinian’s the most? If you guessed the chevron shamrock, you guessed right! 🙂 I got the shape from the Silhouette online store. It came with a bunch of other designed shamrocks.

I also got Jonas’ cute little phrase from the Silhouette store. I love the saying Pinch Proof! 🙂 I did change this one up a little bit because he said he didn’t want the dots on it so I erased them and we were all happy:)

Brynnan said he just wanted one big shamrock. I was surprised! I thought he would want to go all out and have a cool phrase to go along with his shamrock. This one was so easy and done in just minutes! 🙂 I got the shamrock from the Silhouette store in the same set as the chevron one.

I wanted to make this into a tutorial, but I was so anxious to get them all done that I kept forgetting to take pictures of the whole process! LOL Maybe when I use up the rest of my heat transfer vinyl I’ll go slow and take pictures for you. It really is so easy! And the flocked vinyl is SO cool! I love how soft and pretty it looks on the shirts!

I want to say thanks to Expressions Vinyl for sponsoring this post. I really enjoyed working with them and using their product! I will definitely be a return customer and hopefully soon! I need to stock up on some vinyl for more projects:)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great Tuesday!
